2026 Midterm Elections ยท November 3
Editorial Standards and Nonpartisan Policy
Independent information project. Not an official government website.
Vote America is built to inform, not to persuade. These standards apply to every page.
Nonpartisan treatment
- No endorsements. Vote America does not endorse any candidate, party, or ballot measure and gives no personalized voting recommendations.
- Equal standards. Candidates are held to the same evidence standard regardless of party. Independent and third-party candidates are included in race listings, not only Democrats and Republicans.
- No rankings or scores. Candidates are listed alphabetically by last name. The site does not rank candidates or assign an overall score.
- Balanced presentation. The Democratic and Republican entry points are equal in size, placement, and function.
Evidence and sourcing
- Facts link to their source, with the source’s date and the date it was last checked when available. The source hierarchy puts official election authorities first.
- Party affiliation is not a position. A candidate’s policy position is never inferred from party, endorsements, incumbency, or another candidate’s statement.
- Official party recommendations are separate from ballot information and from candidates’ own statements, and are shown only when the party organization published them.
- Missing information stays missing. The site says “Information being verified” or “No verified public position found.” Neither means support, opposition, neutrality, or that no candidate exists.
- Disputed or conflicting sources are shown side by side or flagged for review rather than quietly resolved.
Separating facts from analysis
Issue explainers describe trade-offs and attribute disputed claims. Polling and forecasts, if used, are labeled as third-party analysis with the pollster, dates, and method. Neither is presented as an official result.
Corrections
Errors are handled under the Corrections and Updates policy.
